Featured item, May 16, 2007

"I recently moved to the country, and commute about two hours to get to my job in the city. So I've had to get by on a lot less sleep, which has always been precious to me. I'll do anything to get a few extra minutes. Meet my new best friend: the iTech Tourmaline hair dryer, which according to the company dries hair 60% faster than a traditional hairdryer."

"Another flat iron that I really love is the iTech Ionic Tourmaline Iron. It is an ionic and ceramic iron with crushed Tourmaline crystals, the most ionic mineral out there. I love how the iTech heats up and cools down at lightening speed. The ceramic Tourmaline heating plates help to seal the cuticle, reduce frizz, and lock in moisture. It also has a cool digital display. I heart my flat iron because it made my dream of straight, shiny, silky hair come true."

HAIRART and its new professional product division, iTech, were in the news spotlight constantly this year. According to Jackie Yu, HAIRART's president, profiled in Modern Salon's Jan. '06 issue, the media attention is all about the company's new product introductions and line extensions that range from innovative new hair-styling appliances to a complete new collection of mannequins trademarked "Doll-E-Quins" with 100% natural European hair. HAIRART has also developed new educational and support programs at the cosmetology school level for 2006, offering students scholarships (via the AACS scholarship program) and forming advisory groups that welcome input from instructors and students during the year.

The company's national public relations and advertising campaigns continued in 2006, talking up HAIRART'S high-profile "celebrity connection" at the Emmy Awards – they were a major sponsor at the Pre-Emmy Style Lounge in Hollywood! All attending celebs and their hair stylists got a preview of the new iTech flat iron and literally flipped out over the look of the new styling appliance and its ability to smooth and straighten, wave or curl any texture hair within seconds. The beauty editors of the leading consumer and salon industry magazines are also excited about iTech, receiving their own iTech irons to try out and enjoy its beauty benefits!

In fact, the official 2006 launch of the iTech ionic and ceramic flat iron with tourmaline crystals began with an exciting four-color double-page advertising spread running in the February issues of Modern Salon and American Salon magazines. The iTech ad campaign, themed (and trademarked) "iTech...Touch The Technology," will also be seen in Launchpad, and continue in all key industry publications during the year.
